Lost default catalogues on my N900
Hi, I apologize in advance for the bad English but I am Italian.
Some months ago, I was trying to install new applications and catalogues on my N900. I don't know how, but I deleted the default catalogues (those are on the phone when you buy it), I tried to install them manually again but it doesn't run! And I can't refresh the management applications.. How can I do? Thanks.. |
Re: Lost default catalogues on my N900
I don't know, but you might want to look at someone who's got a similar problem over here:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...184#post931184 Oh, wait. that's you. Double posting won't get you help double fast, you know. Why don't you tell us the setting you input when you tried to re-create the entries for the default application catalogs so we can verify that you input the correct values? |
Re: Lost default catalogues on my N900
I made two post 'cause I thinked that the first post was in the wrong topic. So I re-post here.
I inputted the following parametres: Catalog Name: Applicazioni Nokia Web Sddress: https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/apps/ Distribution: ./ Components: My phone is in Italian... I tried to insert all the four default catalogs (Nokia applications, Ovi, maemo.org, System software updates), but without success.. Thanks |
Re: Lost default catalogues on my N900
hi
i have the same problem i turn on the n900 go to app manager i can update, install and remove apps but i have too stay in application manager so for example i instal a app, it loads again the list with the apps and i can install again a app. but if i leave the application manager. i;m not able too install, remove, or update again. for that, i need to turn my phone off and on. when i have left app manager and i go back, there are no catalog's. all of them are gone. when i look at error report, he says unable to lock 2314 or 1516 so whats the fix? sorry for my englisch, im dutch |
Re: Lost default catalogues on my N900
same problem for me, I don't know what's happen...
but you can use this alternative for now, it works for me Faster App Manager : http://maemo.org/downloads/product/M...comment_page=2 |
Re: Lost default catalogues on my N900
I now can see you are using the app manager and that should be ok. In a terminal, try the following and paste the output here:
Code:
cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list |
Re: Lost default catalogues on my N900
Saddenly I have to reset my phone because of the updates to Maemo 5 (I had more problems, I think because of the absence of the catalogs)
Now the catalogs are came back, naturally.. I haven't found another way to restore the catalogs, hope that you can find it Bramji and Dtergens, as soon as possible :) Thank you very much bb |
Re: Lost default catalogues on my N900
Install Faster Application Manager from the repos
1, Its faster - obviously!!! 2, It works so much better than the default manager 3, Multiple install & removal of programs @ the same time are possible I cant use the default, it annoys me to much. It takes forever to load, loses my cataloges for no reason and fails at random intervals. I have none of these problems with Fapman! http://maemo.org/downloads/search/ap...5&fetch=Search |
Re: Lost default catalogues on my N900
hey guys,
thanks for you response! yesterday evening i rebooted the n900 and everything was fine, realy strange. but i had a problem with the mediaplayer. he said: no connection with server while all my music was on the device( its about 2800music files). i rebooted again and everthing is fine. now when i use application manager the first time, its really fast. but when i use it the second time, i have got to wait for 15-20 minutes. realy strange... But I'm happy with your comments!! Thanks! |
Re: Lost default catalogues on my N900
