Nokia spending big bucks on MeeGo
or something else at least
http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/03/v...mes-its-peers/ i do recall seein g here how they are hiring an insane number of qt devs to make apps. maybe they are trying to give apple store a run for its money. youd think they would shore up ovi first |
Re: Nokia spending big bucks on MeeGo
I know you're posting this with good intentions, but an engadget reference?
and secondly - your title (Nokia spending big bucks on MeeGo) is empty as you straight away say "or something else". Why? Because people like meego references and are desperate for any news? Quite disingenuous - in fact - i take it back you probably didnt have good intentions. |
Re: Nokia spending big bucks on MeeGo
wow i think i just got reverse troll'd haha
just sharing the news, i know were supposed to hate engadget but they often scoop good stories like these and im not trolling- its common knowledge that ovi store is a joke |
Re: Nokia spending big bucks on MeeGo
The point is more, no Nokia have not spend 4 billion dollars on R&D developing Meego last year.
The article, being engadget, utterly misses the fact that nokia do more than develop Symbian and Meego - I'd imagine the amount of money they throw at those two is a tiny drop in that ocean of 4 billion, compared to the amount they spend on both handset hardware, and infrastructure development. As mentioned countless times by the less blithering of Engadget's posters, have a guess where the majority of the development of LTE/4G came from, along with counless other "routine" infrastructure developments. |

But yes QT IS the feature for Nokia that can we atleast be sure of even if they decide to go WP7 on hiend. (Hopefully not, but personally I want proof that Nokia is doing meego handset and RELEASE it before I can really beleive it there is to much rumors atm...) |
Re: Nokia spending big bucks on MeeGo
Exactly, so many people seem to forget that they can't make a GSM call without using Nokia patent. Nokia is the pioneer over at antennas also and has huge portfolio of patents over at wlan side as well.
I hope larger amount has now gone to OS side of things(i'm sure that's the case, but how much more?), but those numbers really don't tell it. |

Okey I know there is also plenty more Symbian phones and non Meego so far but still... |
Re: Nokia spending big bucks on MeeGo
I don't see Engadget claiming that Nokia spent most of that budget for MeeGo.
You'd be as bad as Engadget if you think so by reading that article. |
