Will XAMPP/LAMPP run under Maemo?

I have a website I like having access to offline... Does the N900 have the capability to run the simplified development Apache server called XAMPP (see here) so that I can dump a Wordpress site into it and go to localhost to view it in the browser?

That... would be cool. If no one has tried it, I guess I can be the first :D

And the answer... Nay! It shall not start.

At least, not by simply sticking it in /opt, which is how it works on the desktop.

I guess it would have to be specifically recompiled for the N900 (?) and that's beyond my skill level for now.

lighttpd, php5 and mysql are available to install, so what are you waiting for? :-)

Cool, thanks... I'll try that out.

The packages to install are actually called

lighttpd, php5, and mysql-server

You start the server with

Quote:

/etc/init.d/lighttpd start
Pages are to go into /wwwPHP

As suggested here I created a short phpinfo() call as a simlpe test webpage.

However a 500 - Internal server error was the result. Some more configuration is called for I guess. I may be starting to get the hang of this :D

Re: Will XAMPP/LAMPP run under Maemo?

t tried this configuration guide http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=62575 but it didn't work out for me, returning a 503 service unavailable error. I commented it out.

I then noticed there is a cgi-config section further down in the lighttpd.conf file beginning with the lines

Quote:

### fastcgi module
# read fastcgi.txt for more info
so I uncommented that. Now, there's no connection to server so the answer lies elsewhere. :/

Anyone have a fairly straightforward guide to this? I don't have a compsci degree :)

Yes - with easy debian it rocks like a apache.
