If one believes that Nokia can and will right itself this is a good day to buy. If you feel this going to end up like General Motors then yesterday was a good day to sell.

A number of years ago, the division of the company that I work for bet the farm on MS o/s, I can tell you that we have been paying(in more ways than I can care to count) ever since, it has been effecting negatively on the entire product cycle starting from development to the end product delivery and support. The unfortunately thing is that the bed has been made,so turning back is no longer possible(without massive music-chair game on the top leadership level). In my view, Nokia, will suffer the same. I am not familiar with what other money-making business that Nokia has. If phone is their main bread and butter; than all I can say is really good luck.

Shareholders will suffer in the end.

now down nearly 16%... IN ONE DAY. I'm no financial genius, but if this keeps up, the rest of the board of directors with lots of stock may be looking at elop in a different light after today..

'base... how low can you go?'

It's even worse for Finnish companies who depend on Nokia for work. Ixonos and Digia are both down heavily!

Nokia US shares closed at $11.64 on Wednesday.
Right now the share price is at $9.13.

Elop manages to destroy 22% of Nokia's corporate value within 2 days.

I think he should be held accountable.

Well, Monday it can be worse - looking into trade volumes it seems that somebody tries to keep it on new level. However, Monday he may change his mind, after learning all stuff.

But what if it is M$ (buying Nokia stocks?)

MMmm
Nov 2007 stock price => $40
the day Elop arrived => $10

Nokia's previous strategy destroyed 75% of the corporate value in 3 years placing it back to 1998 levels.

Another 1-2 years of the old Symbian course would have dropped the price to low digits. The old people/strategy were destroying the company

I hope they discover he shorted his own company's stock. That would be good for the lawyers. That way at least someone will benefit from this turn of events.
