Photographic light meter released for N810 as well

This software turns your tablet into photographic light meter!

First release have been done for n900, and now I have ported
the application to Nokia N810 as well.

It calculates aperture and shutter settings, depending on ISO, aperture and shutter
I use it a lot when do photos with cameras which does not have a light meter. These are mostly film cameras.

N810/Diablo version is available for download here

I guess it should work on N800 and N770 too. (it depends of the locations of lightmeter "lux" file on the device filesystem)
And I'll try to understand process of pushing files to the official repos.

So, enjoy the software and make good photos!
And do not forget your old good friend -tablet Nokia N810

My N810 reports Ver 5.2010.33-1 because I added the Community SSU. Application Manager says the light meter deb is "Incompatible application package".

Mmm, I didn't try to install it via application manager, I was using commandline only.
like that:
# dpkg -i lightmeter-n810_1.0.deb

For that you need to become root.

Just tried to install it via Application Manager to see whether it indeed accepts .deb files.
I was thinking before that it accepts only .install files with repository descriptions.

Anyway, I'll find out how to solve it, and you still may install it by becoming root.
Please, do not hesitate to ask how, if you do not know :)
And so

dpkg worked -- light meter is handy. I take it light meter is incident and not reflective -- am I correct?

Nice, I am glad it works for you

I guess yes, it is an incident light meter.
Because it measure light which falls to the sensor. Then one needs to measure the light near the object. I do corrections, if I see that the object I want to photograph is in the shadow while I am not (with the camera ovbiously) then I increase shutter by one level, like 250->125

Like that

Nope, the N810 was the first Maemo device with a light sensor.

Might be because the Section: in debian/control isn't user/*.

Thanks, I'll try to change it and build a new package today!

Re: Photographic light meter released for N810 as well

Problem with installation via Application Manager fixed by marking packages with the correct categories.
Please, download second version of the package, i. e.
lightmeter-n810-1.0_2_armel.deb

Happy photographing :)
