N800 Earphone problem
 

Jumped onto Shoutcast tonight and decided to plug in the Nokia earphones for the first time. Audio came out of both earphones but very low. When I pressed the button on the lead, audio suddenly much clearer in left phone. Release the button and very low again. Then tried Apple buds but again audio very low, certainly not worth listening through. Listening through the built in speakers is fine. Any ideas?
