I catch your drift, but: what if my N900 dies? Also, buying a second N900 doesn't preclude me donating to community devs...

I have recovered a bricked n900 from a friend while he has bought a new one... now i have 2 n900s too :P
There will never come out a device like this again... I think about developing a own phone like the n900 but there is too less time and too much driver developing ;)

my n900 is broken and currently at nokia waiting repair

i have a thirty day return period with amazon so we shall see although i do not see myself exercising that option

Yeah, I wasn't targetting anyone specific with that remark - I just thought that if I had the money to buy extra N900 freely floating around (let's face it, a lot of us N900 fans want an extra spare or two), I have about 6 developers I really want to donate to, and the wave of wishing I could do so made me say that.

At the end of the day I understand buying extra N900s, and certainly have been tempted to do so myself.
