problem with uninstalling uboot (without reflash), please help
Hi there,
i hope someone can help me with this big problem i have. a few weeks ago i have tested meego on my n900. with the step by step instructions it was easy to do it. But now i dont want it anymore, so i have changed my sd-card with the old one. After it, i have deinstalled uboot-pr13 via application manager (or apt-get remove, i dont remember). But i can still see the penguin when starting my device, so i have to enter that boot command (run noloboot) every time i turn it on. I tried to reinstall uboot hoping that it would work, but after i have installed it and removed it, my problem is growing. If i search for a uboot packages (apt-cache search uboot) i get this: Code:
apt-cache search uboot so, at the moment i need to remove all 3 packages... what would happen if i try the command mentioned in the description of uboot-pr13 (To remove this again, apt-get install --reinstall kernel kernel-flasher and reboot.) or of the uboot-power? very strange thing is that i cant remember that i have installed the power kernel. Anyone can help me without reflashing my device please? |

Yep, thats right.
I was not 100% sure (too long ago), but as You found out Yourself: it is needed to reflash the kernel once. |

As a quick help, in case other need to remove u-boot. Use this command & reboot:
apt-get install --reinstall kernel-power kernel-power-flasher (apt-get install --reinstall kernel kernel-flasher did not work for me) |
