problem with uninstalling uboot (without reflash), please help

Hi there,

i hope someone can help me with this big problem i have.

a few weeks ago i have tested meego on my n900. with the step by step instructions it was easy to do it. But now i dont want it anymore, so i have changed my sd-card with the old one. After it, i have deinstalled uboot-pr13 via application manager (or apt-get remove, i dont remember). But i can still see the penguin when starting my device, so i have to enter that boot command (run noloboot) every time i turn it on. I tried to reinstall uboot hoping that it would work, but after i have installed it and removed it, my problem is growing.

If i search for a uboot packages (apt-cache search uboot) i get this:
Code:

apt-cache search uboot
uboot-mkimage - generate kernel image for U-Boot
uboot-power - Installs u-boot to the kernel area, along with kernel-power-46. RISKY INSTALL. U-Boot boot loader for Maemo 5 PR1.3 w/ kernel-power v46. DO NOT USE THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. RISK OF REBOOT LOOPS! MAY EAT YOUR BRAIN. To remove this again, apt-get install --reinstall kernel-power kernel-power-flasher and reboot.
uboot-pr13 - Installs u-boot to the kernel area, along with PR1.3 kernel. RISKY INSTALL.

the line with uboot-pr13 wasnt there before my reinstallation today. if i try to remove it (apt-get remove uboot-pr13) he tells me that it isnt installed.
so, at the moment i need to remove all 3 packages...

what would happen if i try the command mentioned in the description of uboot-pr13 (To remove this again, apt-get install --reinstall kernel kernel-flasher and reboot.) or of the uboot-power? very strange thing is that i cant remember that i have installed the power kernel.

Anyone can help me without reflashing my device please?

i found the solution for my problem. it was:
"apt-get install --reinstall kernel kernel-flasher" and reboot

now i dont see the penguin anymore.

Yep, thats right.
I was not 100% sure (too long ago), but as You found out Yourself:
it is needed to reflash the kernel once.

As a quick help, in case other need to remove u-boot. Use this command & reboot:
apt-get install --reinstall kernel-power kernel-power-flasher

(apt-get install --reinstall kernel kernel-flasher did not work for me)
