Should we migrate to MeeGo and when

Hello ALL!
Recently, I bought N900 and I really think it is the best phone I've ever had. However, I am a bit confused with this Maemo -> MeeGo migration. Should we go for MeeGo? And when?
Please, elaborate and help us, inexperienced...

Best,
PM

Short answer: No.
It's not nearly ready to be a replacement for Maemo yet (especially if you class yourself as 'inexperienced', that is not what the current version is targeted at at all - the N900 Meego has very limited functionality and is/was mainly for developers)

I'd wait for the N950 for Meego really (if it even ends up being closer to Meego than it is to a Maemo 6 candidate.)
I think the best shot for Meego on the N900 right now is Cordia, which is still being developed.

Re: Should we migrate to MeeGo and when

When:
1) when MeeGo has a handset version that is released on a phone sold and supported to the general public, and
2) you have checked that all the features you use on your N900 today also will work in this version of MeeGo on an N900, and
3) you're not too dependent of your phone to suffer a full reset and possibly a few days without a phone.

Optional 1.5) ...and you've read the first non-enthusiast reviews.

Is my suggestion.

Code:

while n900_is_not_broken == True:
    while you_don't_know_what_meego_is == True or \
        stskeeps_says_meego_is_ready_for_daily_use == False:
        keep_happily_using_maemo5()
    try_meego()

This could be an infinite loop...

Don't be silly, it is not going to happen at all, unless Intel find a new cell phone partner to support this new system. Otherwise it is going to be a dead project soon, IMO.
