I've converted an iPhone user to N900
I've converted an iPhone user. A friend of mine saw my phone last week, played a little bit with it and was amazed. I've told him about maemo and how open and hackable the phone is, showed him some preenv games and some massive multitasking at 1150MHz, and he was sold. Yesterday he IM'ed me: "Hi! I've got an N900! Now what was that community website you told me about last time?". Turn out, his iPhone's WiFi had fried, and so instead of a new iPhone 4 he choose the light side of the Force :)
So did you convert anyone? |
Re: I've converted an iPhone user to N900
IIRC they have another thread about this very thing.
Either way, it's pretty cool when people are amazed at what this phone can do (even though it is "old" comparatively.) |
Re: I've converted an iPhone user to N900
He'll be posting in here soon complaining that his iPhone was faster and better.

Sure hope not. He seemed to understand the differences and limitations as well. He is not a complete noob to linux either.

Better hope he/she/it never wants a modern game outside of Angry Birds or ever needs support from Nokia.

Re: I've converted an iPhone user to N900
sure the N900 is a good device but not that good for normal users .
Maybe meego will be a more normal-user-friendly os. emergency solutions in Maemo: Notes: More an editor than a notes application. Contacts : you cant search the contacts by job or other details. when you have more than 500 contacts its a must-feature. SMS.more chat than sms No inbox, outbox etc. when you drive often, you will need the portrait mode. |
