how to fix this problem?

Hey folks

I have a problem on my n900, I can not delete, copy or move any of my files (videos, pictures, songs...) , if I try is says the file is read-only...? :confused:

sudo gainroot
umount /card
fsck -a /dev/mmcblkxpx
mount /card

A filesystem check deleting your data?

Actually you must type this, if you have issue on N900's internal memory:

sudo gainroot
umount /dev/mmcblk0p1
fsck -af /dev/mmcblk0p1
mount /home/user/MyDocs

This is the same as anthonie posted, but he didn't specify partition/drive (he wrote just "/card").

Eh. Perhaps obvious but I ask anyway.

You did replace the word "card" with the specifics of your card, right? The same question applies to the "x-es" in the fsck command.

On purpose, actually. As I had no way of knowing how the FS on his machine is and OP didnīt provide any details on that. So I tried to be as generic as possible, assuming he would figure it out anyway. :D

I just predicted where he had the issue, because I also had it once. ;)

@Leon4
I'm not "power user", but if you have all your data (videos, pictures...), I think you can delete all these .rec files without any concerns.
