Proper Place to put Startup Stuff
Ok, this may be more of a general Linux question, but where is the proper place to put startup scripts?
I have the sobexsvr stuff installed, but I need to restart it each time I reboot or power cycle. Usually, on debian I create a new script in /etc/init.d/ and link to it from /etc/rc.S Is this OK or is there a special "maemo way" to do this ? |
/var/lib/etc/init.d/

I mean, put the actual script in /var/lib/etc/init.d and link it to rc2/3.d....

How about user stuff?
for example, I want to alias mc="/var/lib/install/usr/bin/mc -b" .login? .bashrc? |
looks like we need some area control on the forum here.
DISASTER RECOVERY- when things are really broken what save/restore does and doesn't do HARDWARE/SYSTEM ISSUES base HW base SW uses for MMC other than backup USB hardware and connectivity BT keyboards BT phone connectivity Wi-Fi APPLICATION ISSUES installation operation modification/customization GENERAL CONNECTIVITY X NFS SAMBA Wi-FI as relates to the above BT as relates to the above GURU SHEIST making Debian ARM packages work device I/O keyboard emulation and hand-writing recognition DOES IT WORK AS DESIGNED stuff like "why do I have to change settings every time I use it?" and "zoom" levels in web-browser?"" just thinking out loud... p'ski |
