[Maemo 5] gconf-editor for N900 PR1.3 ready (chinook version)

I thought I may just post it here.

I looked for a gconf editor and read somewhere that the chinook version is just working nicely. So I searched for the deb-package, modified the control file, because of an obsolete package it was depending on, and voila, here it is. ;-)

Install with:
Code:

dpgk -i gconf-editor_2.18.0-0.maemo5_armel.deb

Greetz, ;)

You could have just used qole's repository, it's been in there for awhile.

@j4zz: the byte size of this compile is slightly larger than qole's, what is the difference? in any event, thank for the effort.

Like I said, all I did was removing the dependency of maemo-select-menu-location from the control file of the deb package.

@pata*: Thx for the information; I didn't knew that there's a cole's repository.

Like the majority of the users knew of Qole's repository. Plus I feel that ALL use of non Maemo.org repositories should be discouraged. The more repositories there are, the more of a dependency mess happens, and the less people have access to all the available stuff.

Pretty cool that this is here now. Push to Devel and then down to Testing and Extras, plz?

It is just great. I never knew there were so many values to tweak.
Also the menu works great also for fremantle, just don't use view - full screen..

Maybe, just use qole's repo and you have it ;)

Code:

Maemo 5 (Fremantle) Repository:

Catalogue Name: Qole
Web address: http://qole.org/repository
Distribution: maemo
Components: fremantle

A (non-)first generation question:
What does it remove, and what does it install?
I read it out as new locales/lang's, correct?

Also, I had Qoles version installed, now wondering if this neat app just replaced that one, since I cant find ze app of yers in menus :)
