US - T-Mobile + AT&T = obsolete N900

The N900 uses AWS (advanced wireless services) which users will be forced out of so it can be used for other purposes. |

you do realize that FCC and DOJ have to approve this aquisition right? and even if it does it will be earliest of 18months after the approval when at&t will start to make changes. say 2 yrs. i think in another 2 years i will be buying new meego handset, which means i used N900 for 4 years. that will be worth it.

I just got off the phone with T-Mobile who said it would be 1 year, and these frequencies also include many other smartphones such as the recent T-Mobile G2 that my mother bought. I plan to write to the FCC and DOJ to express my concerns, and hope that others may become aware of this situation and do the same.

I'm in Canada and I've been stuck using 2G, but I don't mind

I thought Stephen Elop already made the N900 obsolete?

Re: US - T-Mobile + AT&T = obsolete N900
I will go for the next version wp7 phone or meego. This N900 indeed is the best phone ever but it consumes too much of my time. I modify it left and right and inside out daily. My friend don't even know how to make a call when borrowing my phone...lol..
