FM Transmitter and headphones at the same time
So I'm sitting next to my sister on the train, and she has forgotten to put music on here phone. No problem I say, you can listen to what I am listening to with the fm transmitter. Except it doesn't work. With the modified fmtxd I can turn on the transmitter with headphones plugged in, but I couldn't find a way to turn the sound in the phones back on. Does anyone know if there is any pulse audio trickery that would get this to work?

Unplug, turn on FMTX, replug in.

Re: FM Transmitter and headphones at the same time
that's a really great use of the fmtx, assuming the advice given above works!

Edit: Or is there some transmitter mod I'm missing? I've got the one modded for the extra frequencies and full power. |

Re: FM Transmitter and headphones at the same time
Awesome! And really simple too. Though I thought for a second it wasn't working because I forgot about headphoned :)
Edit: hmm, have to test the time limit. Edit 2: yeah, it turns off, and replugging my headphones every 10 seconds isn't really going to work. |

edit: changed the sleep 25 to sleep 10 and it keeps the transmitter on, but i didn't tune in a radio so i dont know if it's actually transmitting or not. also wasnt actually listening to music, but the icon stays on. it then turns off when i terminate the script. edit: woa! my fm transmitter turned off when i killed the script, but then came back on by itself 30 seconds later and stayed on.. edit: yeah, it doesn't work even with the script.. pity. |

Re: FM Transmitter and headphones at the same time
haven't tried it yet, but that thread implies the fm transmitter turns off when it hasn't been broadcasting sound for a while, so does the act of plugging in the headphones means the sound is diverted from fm to headphones? all i need is a radio and to stop being lazy, might test it later.
