Keymapping on Nitdroid Gingerbread
Hi,
first of all, I'm sorry in case the answer is somewhere in this forum already, but I couldn't seem to find it. I've installed Gingerbread on my N900 as described here: http://wiki.maemo.org/Nitdroid_easy_...rbread_to_EMMC Now, I've got the problem that some of the special keys aren't properly mapped (especially the @ symbol :/) Anyone else having this problem? How can I fix that? Afair, it worked fine on the stable release Note: I've got a UK N900, so a UK keymap. |
Re: Keymapping on Nitdroid Gingerbread
Same for me but for french, since i've got a french keymap ^^
long time ago I asked e-yes on how to remap the keys, but I can't remember where the file is... I would really like to help to implement the different keymaps for nitdroid ! |
Re: Keymapping on Nitdroid Gingerbread
Keymapping is controlled via binary file /system/usr/keychars/omap_twl4030keypad.kcm.bin
It being "compiled" from source file (see [1] and/or [2]). Format is well-described (google4it; for instance [3]). You could edit kcm and contribute it (merge request on gitorious or PM me @f.n.c), I'll add it to the next release. Unfortunately, you have to "install" it manually, I don't know how to get hw keyboard layout type from device). Btw, if anyone know how, let me know now:) [1] http://gitorious.org/android-n900/ve...4030keypad.kcm [2] http://gitorious.org/android-n900/ve...0keypad.ru.kcm ) [3] http://www.google.ru/search?q=android+edit+keymapping |
