Hi rob

Id say that it maybe possible with the purported 3d chip inside the n800,
but i dont think its available yet. It would be really cool though! ive got a spare mem card to cache my interesting locations.

cheers

I have a feeling the linux version of google earth uses some wine code, hence not a native app so I doubt it will work (at least inthe near future) as the processor on N800/770 is not x86.

Google has not made a version of Google Earth for ARM processors. It's entirely possible that it was made using libwine as well, so I doubt we'll be seeing Google Earth on the N800.

As an alternative you might try http://maps.google.com. Select Satellite view and it will show you the aerial view, similar (same?) than Google Earth would show.

Also http://maps.live.com is similar in functionality.

I second that.

Maemo Mapper has the repo to Run the Maps from Google Earth.
