Cant install preenv
 

Hey guys im tryin to install preenv to play webOS games on my nokia n900 v20.2010.36-2 RX-51 but im not being able to.I've tried almost all the ways.My gprs is also activated but stil i cannot.All the updates n othrs files like "libgles" gets installed but whenevr i type the command "apt-get install preenv" i get this error:

"Reading pacakage lists...Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information...Done
Package preenv is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsolete
d, or
is only available fom another source
E: Pakage preenv has no installation candidate."

I dont knw what is wrong.I've tried restarting my phone but the result is same.Plz help..

You should enable extras-devel to install preenv.
Then try:
apt-get autoremove
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
apt-get install preenv

hi ..i have this problem with preenv,cant install it..may be cuz i dont have repositories like extras or extra testing.do i need to install them from wiki thread or they are already built into my n900 as i have probably the latest version of maemo n900,bought two months ago ..please help
do i need to install repositories from my laptop or they are already there in app manager ?

and i did the above thing in x term but still it says
E: couldnt find package preenv
why is that ? help would appreciated

You need to have extras-devel repositorie, for install preenv

do i need to install preenv separately ?or is it built into rootsh like i have to simply run x terminal ?
sudo gainroot
apt-get install preenv

suggestion please ?i am dying to install preenv

i have installed this repository and also enabled it ,but i wanna know if i have to install preenv separately(deb file) ? or is it already there in rootsh,x terminal ..
just by gaining root and typing apt-get install preenv

can any one help please?

Yes you just need to:
open x-terminal
type: root
apt-get update
apt-get install preenv

Take note this is just the main application. You would be required to download it's dependencies upon issueing command apt-get -f install after installing preenv.

problem problem problem..
i simply tried to install preenv deb -0.1.7 ,says incompatible package
i tried via x terminal..everything went well ..but in the end it shows home/user:
though before this i have put all commands like
sudo gainroot
apt-get upgrade
apt-get update
apt-get install preenv

every thing is okey except the last thing
home/user : <<<<<<what do i have to type here?

m i missing anything or preenv has already installed because everytime i use x terminal it says 0 updated,0 newly installed and 3 not upgraded ???
help please !
