help connectoing blacberry playbook with n900 for tethering
 

hi im having troulbe tethering my nokia n900 to playbook. i have tried using my adhoc connection and pb is not working althiough my laptop recognize ad hoc network. also when i tried to bluetooth tether to access internet it pairs but is not internet coonected although i downloaded bt dial up networking (dun) script from maemo. help. if it doesnt work im planning on returning pb.

Did you try Mobile Hotspot from Maemo Repos or Joiku Spot from OVI?

That sounds a bit trollish mate. I checked a few of your previous posts, you seem to be ok. So I won't use 'F'. But seriously you could've been a bit more helpful or bothered not.

I believe the Playbook is only going to be connectable to a BlackBerry and that feature is reportedly not ready yet.

playbook was released 2 days ago and has had 2 updates!

another one came down today.


you should be able to connect to your wifi as described above. i won my playbook, so i have not recieved it yet to fool around with it more.

hi, fasza, yes I used only mobile hotspot, but doesn't recognize ad-hoc network. Please help. Are there any other freeware maemo products for ad hoc wifi since I don't want to buy joiku if it doesn't work with playbook

there are known bt issues and my guess is that unless it is a standard wifi connection, it will require further updates.

I see no reasons it wouldn't work with bluetooth DUN or PAN. It works paired to an N8 for internet access just fine.

all you need to do is first make sure your playbook is updated to 1.0.1.1710
make sure bluetooth is turned on, check both devices.
pair the n900 to the playbook
then click on internet tethering and select the n900 to connect...

worked for me!! let me know if you need more details
