The Low End Device Thread
This thread can about any low end or mid range device from from companies that are not well known. It seems as if Chinese devices are rising to prominence. Meizu in particular seems to be doing a fine job.

Re: The Low End Device Thread
Great idea for a thread! There are tons of very low end devices that will be hitting the market soon, and this would be a great place to discuss them.

Re: The Low End Device Thread
On what basis did you classify "hdmi, dual core, 4 inch display, and hspa+" device as low end????

Re: The Low End Device Thread
It seems like low end Chinese devices will be getting some pretty advanced features including hardware encode/decode for video chat with the RK2918
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4rA_LbdpJQ and future support for Honeycomb, when the source is released of course, but gingerbread is still very good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruW5q5EQpyA edit: also it will make 200-300 dollar smartphones usable http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVDV0VaQsEQ |
Re: The Low End Device Thread
Capt'n Corrupt I heard you wanted a Galaxy Tab 7 with Galaxy Tab 8.9 specs, well I might have found something that is pretty close and it only 140 USD. As for Honeycomb the chipmaker needs to release it.

Re: The Low End Device Thread
Glad you started this thread. Thanks! I'll keep an eye out. A tablet doesn't seem like something that should have to cost much. (Archos 43 still seems, for my purposes, like the best N800 replacement. But I'm in no hurry. I expect a proliferation of little tablets.)
I'm more interested in non-video links about new products, should you come across them. (I just don't have the patience to sit through some marketer or nerd scrolling this way and that while speaking half-intelligibly; once I know things I care about, like weight and hardware features, if I'm still interested, I'm willing to sit through a YouTube presentation.) |
