N900 - Sold out on Amazon ($349 price point)
Random observation: Amazon (itself, not other vendors making use of the site) sold out of the N900 sometime early this morning. Lowest price you can get one for via third-party is now $429.95 although the main secondary distributor lists them at $549.95.
Do you think Amazon will be getting more in stock? My guess is probably not. Have been at odds with myself over deciding whether or not I should keep the one I got about a week ago for $349. |

I think you can probably safely hang on to it with the expectation of getting your money back at some point, just keep it cosmetically clean and in good working order. I plan on keeping mine until another equally powerful and flexible device emerges... so, yeah, forever.

Re: N900 - Sold out on Amazon ($349 price point)
I was able to get my N900 recently for a very good price second hand, very well treated.
I have a hunch that if Nokia doesn't license the N900 design, then these will be very expensive collectibles. Hold on to them, you might as well have a bar of Finnish gold. Mine I just stumbled into it. I have a Moto Cliq, which I consider the best Android hacker friendly on the market. I just wanted a solid slider with a touch screen and WIFI. Bluetooth wasnt even necessary. But the screen is so small, it hurts. So I was testing the G2 at a local Tmo booth, but how long that keyboard will survive? The Cliq 2 wasnt available by then, which I really looking for. But on the ebays, there was this N900 that was not listed properly (Android cell phone, lol). I remembered I heard myths and legends about this phone, so I got curious. As the list of features got longer and longer, well, I could not resist. I am a Ubuntu addict since 3 years, so Maemo comes like second nature. And Aircrack? PyRadio, Angry Birds better than an Iphone, MediaBox,etc?OPfft. This simply could not go away. And the price, ohh. In my personal opinion, Maemo is way stronger than Meego. I dont see a compelling reason to switch. In fact, I think Ill never will. What I really would like to learn is to port standard Ubuntu and Debian programs to Maemo. Speaking about that, I am starting another thread, to avoid hijacking this one. This thing is simply a masterpiece of workmanship. |

I bought one from amazon About a week ago after my first one died . i had to get it proxy shipped to NZ so it cost me a bit . Glad i did though seeing they are disappearing from all the retailers.
