Please Help, unable to install apps
Hey Guys,
I am unable to install/update any app. HAM tells me I have not enough space available and need to uninstall some apps first... How comes? I have 100+ MB free in /home and 24 MB free in rootfs! Any tips what the problem might be? |
Re: Please Help, unable to install apps
in console do an
apt-get autoclean and apt-get autoremove that will remove all your cached packages and free up rootfs' space |
Re: Please Help, unable to install apps
That is insufficient rootfs space.
The first thing to do is to close repositories you don't need. There are some useful tips in this thread http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=40307 |

Re: Please Help, unable to install apps
It actually seems that it is a faulty package that was not fully installed that is blocking new installs
Try this : After you get that error, try apt-get -f install to force an install of the files that didn't get loaded because of the error. Then try apt-get upgrade again, apt-get -f install back and forth until only the package the error is gone. |
Re: Please Help, unable to install apps
I don't know why but I had missing gcc4.4 while I tried to download apps from reposity, so I downloaded that from http://n900.tannerlab.com/ and installed that from console, check last tab when you try to download an app and check if that has missing libs, also check if you don't have custom uploaded files to /root/ folder
