Damaged screen?
 

Guys

I had a few too many drinks tonight and dropped my phone flat on its face and now I get nothing from the display. The only thing I can see is the backlight.

Any ideas?

Are you sure you are sober?
Just kiddin'. Try reflashing, when it doesn't help try reassambling your phone, there might be a surprise for you inside.

reflashing is *not* the solution for everything... how should the software be affected when hardware falls on the floor?
It's more realistic that there's a loose connection inside.

Ok, so I took the phone apart today hoping I might find a ribbon cable that has been dislodged but it wasn't the case. The phone works fine through TV out so I'd say the screen has gone.

Sorry, I'm in one of them moods tonight.
Shouldn't be too hard to pick up a replacement.
If you do get it fixed, get yourself a wrist strap. One has saved the life of my N900 a few times.
