[SOLVED] Had to cancel NITDroid install, can no longer use SSU and power kernel
Hi guys, I had to cancel my NITDroid install in xterminal. Now I don't see SSU functions such as the rotate lock and I can't boot into power kernel. Any help?
Edit: Here's what I did (thanks for the help guys) I uninstalled the NITdroid installer via xterm Then I uninstalled multiboot by using dpkg -r multiboot, it didn't allow me at first because of a dependency to a kernel so I used dpkg -r [the name it listed in the error in xterm] It works now, I hope this might help some other people who had the misfortune of having their installation cancel part way through. |
Re: [HELP] Had to cancel NITDroid install, can no longer use SSU and power kernel
How do I uninstall the NITDroid installer?
Edit: oops, sorry I should've edited |
Re: [HELP] Had to cancel NITDroid install, can no longer use SSU and power kernel
There is a tutorial on Wiki or on NiTdroid forum on how install and remove this.
Anyway, SSU shouldn't just disappeared. Try reboot. |
Re: [HELP] Had to cancel NITDroid install, can no longer use SSU and power kernel
Hi Friend,
I didn't see any problems with installing the following altogether: 1. Bleeding Edge wl1251 Wireless Driver (it already has the Power Kernel, FYI) - http://forums.internettablettalk.com...ad.php?t=69449 2. NITDroid (tried Gingerbread and N11 "Vostok") - http://wiki.maemo.org/Nitdroid_easy_install_on_EMMC 3. Backupmenu - http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=67866 ...so whenever I boot my N900 with the keyboard slid open I see 4 items: 1. Stock Kernel 2. Power Kernel with the Bleeding Edge wireless drivers 3. NITDroid 4. Backupmenu I also have CSSU installed. In fact I'm already recording a video tutorial for it. :) Just make sure you follow the instructions to the dot and it will work properly. I flashed my phone 3 times and followed the instructions just to be sure. The order of my setup was: 1. Install Backupmenu 2. Install NITDroid 3. Install Bleeding Edge Wireless Driver I didn't install the "solo" Power Kernel anymore since to my understanding, the Bleeding Edge Wireless Driver was already "built" based on the Power Kernel. It would just take up unnecessary space on my N900. |

I'm now trying out apt-get remove nitdroid-installer, it uninstalled the installer. After a reboot I now have the CSSU features but I don't have the kernel-power I'll try reinstalling |
Re: [HELP] Had to cancel NITDroid install, can no longer use SSU and power kernel
Whenever I try to boot it it fails the first time and the second time it goes into the regular kernel. Wat do?

Uninstall Multiboot and you should be fine.

Re: [HELP] Had to cancel NITDroid install, can no longer use SSU and power kernel
It tells me that there are dependency problems, do I uninstall kernel-power and then remove multiboot and then reinstall?

Let me just finish the video tutorial, hopefully it will help visualize how to do it. I'm a bit busy currently with some household chores. :) EDIT: By the way I don't install the Power Kernel anymore whenever I install the Bleeding Edge Wireless Drivers (for wireless network cracking), since it is already built on the Power Kernel, i.e. it already offers the ability to overclock. |
