[ANNOUNCE] switch profile by meeting
 

This simple python program looks in to the default calender and for when a meeting starts.
when the meeting starts , it switches the profile to silent , and when it ends , it returns to the general profile.
accessible form the status menu with simple start-stop.

any ideas?

download and install:
1. first add extras-devel

2. then download and install this:

reason for the extras-devel is python-mafw and the reason for it is that after a profile change there is a bug that silence the volume.
so I use the media player to save and restore the volume level.
maybe I should report this bug...

Seems like what I've wished would exist on N900, although it'd be nice to be able to set a flag on the meeting whether it will silence the phone or not. I know that it doesn't exist by default, but as a crude example it'd be nice to have an option to maybe for the application to parse the meeting description, and if it has for example the string "(S)" in the meeting description, then it would silence the phone. Then you'd have control over what to silence and what not for the people who don't want to have all the meetings to change the profile. This is just from the top of my head, so probably someone can come up with a better way to implement this.

it would be a great application... i needed this one b'cause lots of meeting and then switching between profile is really something i was looking for ... will try out and let you know .... thanks again

as I didnt install it on a "new" device I came here asking for feedback.

After seeking all over for ppl near me to test my app, I just came back from a party with one. I tested the install , and fixed some issues I found.

ok but it is not possible to use cells like minigps on symbian devices?

tested on a "naked" N900 and proved to work.
