Tethering the N800 using Telus
I have been trying unsuccessfully to tether my N800 to my LG 245 phone.
The phone is bluetooth enabled, and I am on the Telus network. I have paired the phone with the N800, and have set up a connection for the phone. I am using #777 for the dial up number, and blank User Name and Password. From googling, it appears others have tethered their Telus phones (different models) this way. When I choose the phone for the connection, I get the message Authentication Failed. Try Again from the N800. On the LG 245 side, I see a message saying Calling 3G 1X data, and a progress indicator for TX and RX packets. It tries this 3 times, and then I get the Authentication Failed. Try Again from the N800. Is this a case that I need a username and a password to authenticate, or is there something else I am missing? Thanks, Kevin |
Re: Tethering the N800 using Telus
For what it is worth I have just successfully tethered a Blackberry 8830 on Telus with a blank username and password. See this post for more info:

Tethering some Telus phones requires NAI modification. Check howardforums.

You may need a username password, on an old phone I did.
For me it was: Username was: TENDIGITNUMBER@1x.telusmobility.com Password was: phone's ESN number |
