Mupen64 question? (Ubuntu related)
Hi guys, not sure if this has been asked before (I could not find any similar questions)
I have been getting back into Zelda OoT and I have been pretty hooked on it for the last week, but have been having some worrying problems with the heat that is emanating from the n900. It also does not help that even when OC'd to 1000mhz the game still stutters on the cut scenes and misses the rare texture here and there. It would be much easier to dig out my n64 but there would still be a problem with the game saves? Now it is possible to run mupen64 installed on the laptop with the games stored on the n900 as a mass storage device, and have the lappy plugged into the HDTV. But can the laptops Mupen64 be configured to use the same game slot that is stored on the n900? You see there could be a few benefits to this method if possible... 1; Will not over cook your phone 2; Play games in High definition resolution 3; Play games at full speed with laptop taking the grunt 4; N900 will get a good charge 5; You can then save the game, unplug the n900 then reload mupen locally, and continue playing :D So could it be done? It may work for other emu's too. TL:DR; Can you use the same game save slot from the n900 as mass storage, when playing games from desktop mupen64+? |
Re: Mupen64 question? (Ubuntu related)
i know you can use the pc save files on n900 because i downloaded one for mario64 and works fine on my n900 (all 120 stars collected)
so i'm guessing it should work vice versa :) |
Re: Mupen64 question? (Ubuntu related)
I did it too with Mario 64, I was too lazy to play the whole game!! :)
But idi never tried Mupen64 on my PC so I don't know where save files are located!!! :( |
Re: Mupen64 question? (Ubuntu related)
Hmmmm? I must have a look into the locatin of the save files for the desk top mupen64. Maybe it would be easier to symlink them?

Re: Mupen64 question? (Ubuntu related)
Well you'll be wasting precious space on the N900 when you have heaps on your laptop so it seems pointless.
But the benefit is you can just resume gameplay from any computer directly off the phone. Just remembered that computer must have Ubuntu and Mupen64 pre-loaded which wont be the case. So yes, its pointless just keep it all in your laptop OR all in the N900, simple. |
