N900 Backup from SD to PC
 

Hey guys:

So my n900 recently decided to break, but fortunately I had a recent backup saved to the SD card. I'm considering upgrading to an e7, since n900s are harder to come by nowadays.

I have a few questions:

-How, using either PC Suite or Ovi Suite, can I import the backup from the SD card to my PC? As I understand it, Nokia uses a set of standard backup file formats, but everything on the SD card is saved as a .zip file.

-I would like to migrate my SMS conversations and contacts from the n900 backup to the e7. Assuming Nokia is using a standard backup format across all hardware and OS platforms, is this possible, or do I need to use an intermediate (like Noki) to achieve this?
