New N900 Battery; Need UK supplier

Hi All -- where's a good place to source a new N900 battery in the UK?

The official Nokia pricing seems too expensive.

After almost two years of heavy use my N900 will now only last a few hours in idle mode, so its become unusable as a main phone.

Thanks

Then go to Nokia to be assured of an official component rather than a fake one sold almost everywhere you can think of.

2 years is not bad at all for an official battery from Nokia and worth paying the price for.

Don't think Nokia UK are of any use anymore. Their stores are all gone (except Heathrow T5?) and if you do locate an accessory from their website they will only point you towards an Operator - e.g. O2, Orange.

Yes good point and yes you can buy a battery i know from 02 stores.

Just make sure whatever battery you buy is an official replacement from Nokia that way you will get another 2 years from it, much better lifespan than fake cheap alternatives.

Oh for gods sake who the hell wants to read all that when all he wants is a replacement Nokia battery instead of trolling for a good enough replica?, just go and buy a proper replacement for gods sake and be done with it.

No not whatever ok !.

Oh for gods sake, that thread is carefully set up so you can get the essential information by reading the first three posts.

And oh for gods sake, the reason someone would be interested is that thread recounts the results of actual testing and actually finds batteries that are BETTER than the Nokia official battery and also CHEAPER.

Oh for gods sake, isn't that what the OP wants? I have two of the recommended Scud batteries and they work great.

Thanks all. The linked page was useful. I ended up getting U-bop PowerSURE Battery from Amazon for £5. It seems to work okay.

However, maybe battery isn't the problem -- now it's more like something has gone wrong with my phone to drain the battery very fast.

I've turned-off WiFi and it seems to be okay again (although no WiFi, obv). Will have to get around to reflashing it at some point to see if that helps.

Reflash fixes EVERYTHING :D

On topic though, i got a replacement genuine battery and desktop charger from here so that I have a spare. I also use this so that I never need to have the phone on charge.

Not quite as cheap as £5 though!

Did you just sh*t all over all my work and money spent to help along the best battery choice, did you????

EDIT: and op, if you have just as terrible battery time with the new battery then you will have gotten a "fake" battery, see my thread for more info, like a battery saying 1500mAh but actually being 800mAh
