N900 keeps switching itself off
Hey guys
Anyone else having the same problem? There is loads of battery still, but it just switches off every so often. Been doing it more regularly recently. I'm gonna try re flash. Just wanted to know if anyone knew why it was doing it before i do. Cheers Janni |

A re-flash is the way to go. If it still switches itself off/'jams', I think you need to get the hardware fixed... |
Re: N900 keeps switching itself off
I cant remember the last time it jammed. So dont think its still an issue. Just turning itself off with no prior warning...

It still sounds hardware-ish to me (just my opinion), but if you return it to Nokia, they'll keep it for a few weeks and just flash it. So you might as well flash it first and see if it fixes the problem.... |

Re: N900 keeps switching itself off
thanks, will give it a go. Have checked battery and it doesn't seem to be loose at all so thing I'll flash it. I have swappolube installed, but other than that nothing else to speed it up. Still haven't overclocked!

Re: N900 keeps switching itself off
Also, be sure to check not only battery springer, but battery contact pins too. Using needle, You can tighten them a little (with battery pulled out, of course), then try again.
Of course, if that doesn't help, full reflash (with eMMC, just in case) is also recommended. |
Re: N900 keeps switching itself off
to test if the battery is causing your phone to turn off by them self then do this...
Code:
put the phone on you hand & shake it for a while....it the phone turn off by shaking it the the battery pin is loose... |
Re: N900 keeps switching itself off
Well I reflashed, and it seemed to improve, but its turned off 3 times today! I have just shaken the living daylights out of it and it hasnt turned off so I have no idea what is causing it now!

Re: N900 keeps switching itself off
After you reflashed, did you restore the programs you had previously been running? If so, that might have been a mistake.
