i would like to ask what is the application for something like bites,whats apps or bbm..that can chat for free??either online or offline..

You want to chat for free? Try Skype, ICQ, IRC, Yahoo, Facebook, etc, etc, etc...

None of those doing it for you? Try some of these:

Liveprofile is very similar to whatsapp or BBM so much that it even has its pin like BBM..

It should be out in the next few weeks as the symbian beta is already out...so im guessing the maemo version is not far behind...
