Error Downloading GStreet Maps in bulk with Maemo Mapper 1.4.7-2 on 770 IT2006
It works fine auto-downloading as I browse over the same area, but attempting to use the map manager to download zoom levels 2, 4, and 6 of the same area (about 10MB worth of data) starts generating errors.
Same with google satellite imagery. VE and Terraserver repositories work fine. I'd suspect a change at google, but as I said, I can browse around with the d-pad and zoom keys and get no errors. EDIT: Apparently the other repositories are not working properly either. The bulk download generates no errors, but the resulting data is somehow unusable in offline mode. http://fatcatfan.googlepages.com/VEStreet6.zip This is zoom level 6 for VE Street - the 3-digit directories contain valid tiles for the correct area. These were generated simply by browsing. The 4 digit directories contain dummy data, and were generated via the map manager download. EDIT again: I had changed the settings on the "misc 2" tab for units and degree format. I'd assumed this was just a preference, but it seems this setting is what caused the errors. I'd set units to "mi." and degrees format to "S dd° mm' ss.s"". Changing them back to the defaults made everything work as expected. To be clear, I wasn't manually entering the "to-download" area boundary by value. I simply zoomed and panned to the area of interest, so it wasn't an error of me inputting the wrong coordinates. |
