2nd time my headphone got messed up
I purchased a new headphone WH-500 on december and while playing with my Nokia N900 its voice started breaking in one year and today the sound is only coming in on year I have to twist the wire right above the 3.5MM audio jack in order to listen on both years.
The original headset that was shipped with N900 also experienced this problem and I had to retire it and buy this one on December. What could be the possible cause for this problem? Is it the extreme loud music of N900 that causes the headphones slow death? Will a wireless headphone solve this problem? I always like good nokia headphones for listening to music |
Re: 2nd time my headphone got messed up
The cable's probably busted. Try keeping you N900 in a wider pocket with more space for the cable to bend. and try to keep the cable from getting pulled etc.

Re: 2nd time my headphone got messed up
Yeah this is a pretty common problem with N900 and earphones. in fact, our beloved N900 has even been descibed as a serial earphone killer here:http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=56389 :D

Re: 2nd time my headphone got messed up
This reminded me of my earphone problems. I ended up getting a replacement pair from ebay for the price of a beer, Nokia wanted a lot more than that if I ordered it directly.
Anyway I discovered the break in mine was in the soft flexible part of the connector just above where it plugs into the phone. I could be wrong on this, but I used to wrap the cables around the phone which caused a little bend on this part of the earphone cable. So now I don't wrap the cable around the phone anymore. |
Re: 2nd time my headphone got messed up
So what is the solution? Is there any way my current headset can be repaired? Its a headache to keep my fingers on the wire and twist it in certain direction in order to hear music on both the years? Should I go for some bluetooth headset?
