Change application names
Is there a relatively straightforward way of changing application names on the N900 (for the purposes of personalization)? Mostly I want the new names to appear on the application menu list (it is not so important that they appear as the title of each application itself).

Re: Change application names
Hey, you can go to /usr/share/applications/hildon/ and open the .desktop file of the app you want to change.
I recommend using "FileBox" and "PyGTKEditor", so you can easily edit by tapping and holding down on the file. |
Re: Change application names
Just adding, you'll need to do the edit as root.

Re: Change application names
Thanks for this info, but it appears not all applications have entries in this folder. For example, Dataviz' Documents to Go (Word to Go, Sheet to Go, Slideshow to Go) do not have entries here. Where to find them?

I recommend using leafpad. u then have to type in terminal as "root"
leafpad /usr/share/applications/hildon/xxxxxx.desktop it'll open something like this: Quote:
