Unable to Boot N900
 

well i've installed android on my N900.its worked perfectly for a few mnts then it got stucked and i turned of the phone. now it wont boot.I get white screen on switching on the device just the Nokia logo. after its gets off. Unable to even charge the phone. and also i tried to flash then it said Suitable USB device not found waiting....

please any one help me........

Try reading the wiki for Updating ur firmware...!!!

are you holding down the 'u' key when plugging usb into phone?

hey friends i m in tention please help me my n900 is not booting it stucks at nokia logo for few seconds and then off i have tried every thing i also tried starting it in R&D mode a icon also appears below nokia but still its not starting up same prblem also white sensor lite came at start but nothing... i dont want to reflash my phone because of my data and applications please is there another way to boot it help and thankss

Ok ok ok, to get rid of your cross-posting in >9000 threads, I'll answer this. :-)

You did not provide any useful information. But anyway, the answer is: reflash COMBINED (rootfs), as this seams to be the only practicable way for you atm imho. You will loose your applications. this is correct. But it shouldn't take too long to reinstall them... You won't loose your Music, Videos, Documents and other stuff which is placed on the MyDocs partition (or probably better known to you as the "N900" item in the file browser). If you are lucky, just flashing the kernel could help you. But there is no way for me to know that since I don't know what you have done. So flash rootfs. unfortunately, sometimes we all have to learn it the hard way :-)

There is a reason why nobody but me has answered you. Next time: Do your research, give us information (what is the last thing you have done, programs you have installed etc.) and finally, stop cross-posting. One thread/post which clearly describes your problem is enough.

thanks for ur advice and comment help. so i had to reflash ohhh alas i lost many many applications and nitdroid also. anyways i can install again. thanks for ur help again. soryy for cross posting bt i had to do that

i a unable to start my n900 after successfully installing nitroid
i tried holding "u" key and then connecting my n900 to PC
actually after holding the "u" key
what appears on the screen is the NOKIA LOGO and USB sIgn at the right corner,,
but then what to do ,,
how to update the firm wire,,
bec i dont see any drive into my PC after connecting throught USB MODE

my n900 also did not boot..its stuck on multi-boot..

when i press power button, nokia logo appeared then next is multi-boot menu, when i select an item, from 1(maemo)-2(nitdroid)-3(kp50)-4(back-up menu) even 0 it wont boot it just stuck on running script then hangs..

i also try to flash it but when pressing u will pluggin in to the pc, usb icon did not appear then running scripts without backlight then steady orange led ..
