Numlock
I have an N810 Maemo 4 handheld.
I'm going to be entering just numbers in a spreadsheet. Is there a way to lock the keyboard so I don't have to press the key you use to shift to get numbers? TIA |
Re: Numlock
What app are you using?
I don't know what you mean by pressing the shift key for numbers. Can you post a desktop pic? |
Re: Numlock
Okay. Sorry. I think I know what you're asking.
One way would be to use Xmodmap. Then change your hardware key settings temporarily. For example, something like: keysym F8 = 0 0 keysym F7 = 1 1 keysym Up = 2 2 keysym Down = 3 3 keysym Left = 4 4 keysym Right = 5 5 keysym Return = 6 6 keysym F4 = 7 7 keysym Escape = 8 8 keysym F5 = 9 9 I don't know the hardware keyboard for the N810 though to help you with the codes. |
Re: Numlock
I believe what you are after is to change the keyboard on the N810 to just do the numbers/punctuation. Just hit Fn twice and that will lock it. Once more to unlock

Re: Numlock
Or perhaps you could just do this. ^ :D
