Dying system

The Linux-made systems are dying...
Elop kills MeeGo, so makes Intel.
Android's no *true* Linux...
Is there no chance of living of such a system?

Doesn't seem like it. You'd think that someone would know how to package it onto a device that would sell quite well.

I think the N9 is a device that could have sold quite well, had it been released sooner and with some marketing muscle behind it. But...

There doesn't appear to much of an incentive for manufacturers to produce an open linux-based device. Given the current focus on ecosystems (i.e. bleeding consumers dry by locking them in and selling them proprietary software/services), why would any manufacturer waste money producing a device that allows people the freedom to completely bypass the manufacturers chosen ecosystem?

I've seen the future, and it looks like sh1t.

had hoped Nokia would stay on the righteous path but no. Alternatives are few. I'd rather get an n95 then jump on android / wp7 or ios.
