can't make an ssh connection
For some reason I cannot connenct to my n800 via ssh. I am using winscp. The connection is made, I get asked for the password (which I have never had to do before) over and over, and finally it just won't connect. I did get a connection for about 30 seconds, but then it died. I have upgraded to the latest version of the OS, and installed openssh using apt-get install ssh.
Any ideas? Anyone else experiencing this problem? I should note that I am sharing the connection via my wife's G4 iBook, and everything else network related seems to work just fine. |
Re: can't make an ssh connection
winscp will only copy files to and fro, not allow you to maneuver around the filesystem and edit files, what-have-you.
how are you sharing the connection with the laptop? it would seem to me that you would want your own IP address from the router, and using an ssh client like PuTTY you would ssh to the IP address of the n800. unless you configured key based authentication and did not specify a passphrase in the key, you would be presented with an authentication challenge. i believe the root password (case sensitive) is ROOTME. |
Re: can't make an ssh connection
Doh - that's what I meant - scp... I'll resubmit with the correct title.
