Re: aircrack-ptw not opening! HELP N770
Basically it's looking for an already-created-with-a-packet-capture-program dump.
You know, something created with Ethereal or the like. Search around in here for more info on this. |
Re: aircrack-ptw not opening! HELP N770
Would NMap work for this?

Re: aircrack-ptw not opening! HELP N770
aircrack-ptw only works using special .cap files as input. These .cap files contain arp traffic stimulated by aireplay-ng (part of the aircrack-ng suite) injecting arp packets. It won't work on .cap files containing arbitrary captured traffic.
Since the N800 can not inject packets using aireplay-ng, the only way to generate the necessary .cap files is to use a Linux laptop running aireplay-ng to inject arp requests. You could then, in theory, collect this traffic on the N800 using airodump-ng (or probably kismet), and then find the wep key using aircrack-ptw on the N800. But if you are going to inject using aireplay on a laptop, you might as well run airodump-ng and aircrack-ptw on it as well and leave the N800 out of the equation. Basically, aircrack-ptw is useless on an N800 - it's just interesting to see that it can run, but it has no obvious practical use. |
