Faint notification sound plays out every 5 minutes or so.
 

a strange thing with my N900. a faint notification sound plays out at the head of the minute every 5 min. and when the device is in silent mode, then it vibrates instead of playing the sound.

Which application/service is doing this? please help. this thing is irritating.


note i run the latest CSSU.

Try turning on LED Notifications for all events and seeing which event causes the notification for the sound. Also check under profiles to see which set of ringtones is creating that faint sound that you were talking about.

check if you have installed call notify
