Hello,

I don't know about the windows side but from the linux side when you flashed your device and it was stuck at that point, what did you have on your N900 screen?

I think I may have encountered a similar case whereby the device freezes at the loading dots. Though upon booting normally (without flashing) I was able to use the device normally.

Re: Flash eMMC VANILLA: raw data transfer failed

When the N900 is blocked, the loading dot animmation is still working during 5-10 seconds, then after stop.

I try to restart the N900 after this, but i have an infinit dot animmation, and the device never finished to boot.

Is there a way to see detailed boot steps on N900?
To know what is the faillure... like when we have with the <ESC> on ubuntu linux boot.

By detailed boot steps you're referring to framebuffer console which is a kernel module and is not provided by nokia themselves neither I think was it ever made available by default.

I'd try reflashing PR1.3 and booting the device normally to see if you can get into the device.

Re: Flash eMMC VANILLA: raw data transfer failed

I already try to reflash with PR1.3.. I think I test all flashing conbinaison then restart... but it dosn't help.

I'm affraid eMMC flash is broken. But I don't have any way to be sure about this...

So I guess I will have to go in Nokia care next week :(

Thanks for your help!

You could do md5sum on the eMMC flash image to see if it matches with the website.

Also its not a good idea to drop your device at Nokia Care, you do realise that there is a chance you won't be seeing your N900 again if you gave it to Nokia Care. In place of your N900 they'll probably offer you N8 or E7 as an `equivalent' replacement for your device that cannot be fixed.

Re: Flash eMMC VANILLA: raw data transfer failed

is the usb connection actually dropping? loose cable at either end? is the usb icon still up on the device?

Is there another usb device causing a hiccup? I know I have a usb mouse that polls my usb like crazy. I switched to a ps2 mouse for flashing. Try disconnecting all other usb devices.

Just keep trying. I had never flashed before this week and probably tried at least 30 times over the past 48 hours, but my device works now. I know how frustrating it is. I almost decided to just preorder a N9 at one point. :) I saw bare minimum installs (no OS) and reboot loops, successful flashes that actually were not... but I never encountered your error.

There has to be something to it. Don't give up.

Re: Flash eMMC VANILLA: raw data transfer failed

i got a dangerous method for flashing broken eMMC of your device...i have tested this method on my 2nd device which got the same problem while flashing eMMC....

before you try my method i suggest you use Gparted live CD to fix your eMMC...if it works then you can skip my method....

now if Gparted live CD didn't works then try to reboot your device...if it boot like normal then play around with the device system files...make your device in reboot loop...once your got in reboot loop then you can easily flash your eMMC first then your fiasco images....

why make your device in reboot loop???
well if you look carefully while you flashing your device eMMC you will notice that the usb icon will disappear right after you start flashing & the five dots will appears(stuck after 2-3 seconds)...this show you that you have fails flashing your eMMC...
now if you make your device in reboot loop then your device won't try to load your eMMC on boot...this is the only way to you can flash your eMMC without any problem....

i have try testing this method several times using windows 7 32bit...it works all the time....

if you managed to flash your eMMC using my method then flash your fiasco images next....after completed flashing boot your device...if it boot normally then install backupmenu....using backupmenu + Gparted live CD to scan & fixed remaining problem on your eMMC....
