Samsung Galaxy Nexus

http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-201...?tag=mncol;txt

Even if mentioned in the EPIC Android thread, I think we can discussed more about this phone.

Definitely, a good candidate to replace the beloved N900.

As Mr. Norris said in the aforementioned thread, it seems there is a debate between the Note and the Prime. I sill have my debate among those two *and* the N9, but, not sure if the N9 can be part of this match much longer, as it is so hard to get.

If any of those Samsung phones can be bought in Amazon, the game will be over for the N9.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I agree that the Galaxy Nexus would be a great replacement for the N900.

1. It will be sold worldwide so that will help Maemo community to keep on developing.
2. It's a developer phone which will help in the developers.
3 Specs that were announced at the press release on Oct 18.

4.65-inch
HD Super AMOLED display (1,280 x 720)
1.2GHz dual-core processor
5 megapixel rear camera (with LED flash) with 1080p HD video
1.3 megapixel front-facing cam
1080p video recording and playback
Bluetooth 3.0
NFC module, accelerometer, compass, gyro, proximity sensor and even a barometer
1GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of internal storage space and a 1,750mAh battery
HSPA+ /LTE version will "be available depending on region."

yes, if you are a dwarf, otherwise you are looking at galaxy note ;)

but not as a replacement, as a complement. N900 can be replaced :)

EDIT: Merge to the EPIC Android thread?

One problem with the Note it is that there are no plans on it going United States. So I consider it useless. It going to be a Europe only device. No offense to anyone but the rest of the world would love have some of the Europe devices like Sensation XL.

ok, to big to have in a belt clip, thatīs why no one in US can buy it. heard it's law to have the phone in a belt clip.

I would like to have a Note but I think too many people and carriers think it is a tablet after they saw the Dell Streak 5 which sold well here. I think Galaxy Nexus would just do better as a next MaeMo device for the community be that it will be sold worldwide starting in the beginning of November.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Nexus

These new generation devices are ALL TABLETS.

I think any device that is below 5.5in screen size is a (smart)phone or a PMP. ie/ microTABLET

Anything between 5.6-7.0in is a "pad". ie/ miniTABLET

And anything between 7.1-12in is a "slate". ie/ euTABLET (or fullsized).
Not sure what to call 12-23in ... "non-portable but small"

Finally anything between 24in to 60in is what we call a Flatscreen Television

Got my hands on a galaxy nexus. ICS multitasking is fantastic but the one thing I miss greatly is a HWKB. Any suggestions?

The Gnex doesn't really have enough to be a good successor to the N900.

I think the Note does, it has better radio signals, noise cancelling mics, better earpiece, better loudspeaker, better storage, better processor, better screen (larger and more pixels), it also has the S Pen to top it off.

I'm declaring the NOTE as the first true successor to the N900!

By the way I hate the cheap plastic feeling of the Samsung, but after comparing my NOTE side-by-side to a RAZR I have a different opinion.
It's very very light and makes the large size feel small.
The plastic is a shock absorber so it protects the insides.
The RAZR sounds good on paper but that Kevlon also feels cheap.
The N9 to me has a great "screen feeling" but the polycar feels like cheap plastic also.
The only thing that "feels premium" is the iPhone 4 and the HTC Legend which I think is the Mona Lisa.
