Linux tablet - thinking about getting one
i love my n900 i really do, and i love my macbook. ive been thinking about getting the bridging gap between them, i find lugging my macbook everywhere can get a little bit anoying when commuting and traveling.
my n900 is fine for everything but i can find it somewhat frustrating sometimes to use it as a solid laptop replacement out and about, although it is do-able. so i was wondering if there are any linux based tablets out there, possibly with a single touch pressure screen [ although not essential ] having a port of my paint on a small tablet while on long train rides ect would be great so can anyone recommend any out or up coming tablets? Hp slate runs atom and the refurbished version goes for $2-300 off.

Re: Linux tablet - thinking about getting one
What size?
Technically 10" is small for a laptop if your tablet is to replace it. And 7" is too large if you plan on keeping it in small purse/jacket pockets. |
Re: Linux tablet - thinking about getting one
HP Touchpad can run ubuntu with lxde very well if you can grab one still

Re: Linux tablet - thinking about getting one
I'm sooooo p'ssed that the cordia tab project is blocked ATM because hardware manufacturers not following the GPL wrt the kernel... it would be ideal to have such a tablet with a complete desktop-like GNU/Linux stack... hardware I own with just any OS I choose to install. Like I do with my laptop or desktop PC.

Re: Linux tablet - thinking about getting one
@Benny I hoped the Galaxy Tab could host a full-fledged ubuntu, but the only developer who was working on that has disappeared.
