Need help for a memory card!

It might be irrelevant here but I want to buy a 32 GB memory card for my Xperia Arc and wanted to know what class should I buy? I have choices of Class 6 and Class 10 and wanted to know if there are huge differences in speed within the mobile because there are huge differences in prices. Please help me my Ex fellow N900 brothers. :p

Unless you expect to do lots of sequential writing to the card (e.g. video recording), I would stick to Class 6 or even lower.

For general use, I find that Sandisk Class 2 or 4 gives better performance (for standard "file system use"), and they are a lot cheaper.

This means that a Class 10 memory card is no better than a class 6 to be used in the phone

The higher class cards are, from all accounts, doing some rather dodgy work behind-the-scenes in order to achieve the required sequential throughput. This has been shown to cause corruption in some circumstances (see the Nitdroid threads, amongst others), probably due to conflicts between the expectations of the card designers and the reality of low-power device usage.

I'd certainly recommend going with a class 4/6 rather than a class 10.

It probably depends a lot on the particular card (not all brands are equal), and more importantly on which kind of use you want to give it.

As I said, if you're into recording video it may help to have a higher class card, but for all other uses the class is mostly irrelevant, so I'd go for the cheaper one.

One last question, I am not a geek, I am just a normal phone user and woyuld like to know that if class 6 memory card would be enough for a user like me.
