Why shortcuts on bottom instead of on side?
 

I would think it makes more sense to have the shortcuts when you swipe from the side partially and hold, instead of from the bottom and hold.

Two reasons.

1. You could fit more than 4 shortcuts. Probably 6 or 7. It would be more handy.

2. You could swipe from any screen to get the shortcuts rather than just from inside an app as currently.

Anyone know or speculate why they decided to go from the bottom instead? I just don't see the advantage of it.

Suggest it at the ideaprojects site and on konttoris blog :) .

Also, I think the shortcuts should appear even when using the device in landscape, which they currently dont.

Also; configurable without 3rd party app.

I've actually never used the shortcuts, as everything is at most two swipes away - one to "minimize" the current app, second to app view. And it's faster this way.

I never use the shortcuts either.

I just wish N9 had a physical camera button as it would have been 100000000000000000000 times better than having shortcuts for the camera app.

No way to use volume rockers for focus and "take shot" perhaps doubletap lockkey to launch camera app?
