I asked the same here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=79379. No reply so far. I found out where the database is and that you could most probably edit out with some kind of sqlite tool.... But I didn't touch anything in there. I don't know how those databases play together and wouldn't want to risk ruining my browser. Having a simple gui for this would be a good thing.

You can clear the list of websites by going to:

Settings/Applications/Web and press the "Clear private data" button.

This will show you the default "Nokia N9" bookmarks.

But, I still don't know how to remove specific bookmarks from the list.

Or just use Opera Mobile on the N9. The stock browser is just AWFUL.
