Increasing size for EasyDebian image file
Hi all.
I need more room to install some stuff on my easydebian image file. Actually, I have the file on a 6Gb partition on my sd card. I remember to read here somewhere how to do it but I can't find the thread now. Someone here to help me, please? Thanks in advance. |

Suggested links : Increase the image file : http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=160 But I have initially used "resize2fs debian-squeeze.img.ext2 1946MB" (size less than 2 GB due to FAT32 é 2GB) on a PC Ubuntu machine because on Maemo resize2fs gave some errors. Use Easy Debian without an image file (by coping its contents to a dedicated partition), it is also faster : http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=683 http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...016#post216016 On my N810, I followed the 2nd option running Easy Debian copied to a 5GB Ext3 partition in a MiniSD 8GB class 6. Qole is the author of Easy Debian, more details also ask him : he is the guy  |

Or use dd on the command line to create a new image, the size you want. Mount it as well as the old and copy the content from your old image to your new. Unmount both and copy the new image to your n900.

Re: Increasing size for EasyDebian image file
Hi and thanks, rcolistete.
My image file sice is the default for the easydebian uncompressed image: 1,2Gb. The sd card partition format is FAT32. So, if I have well understood your instructions and the links you have post, I just could: 1º copy/move the image file from sdcard to my PC Debian machine. 2º run the "resize2fs" command for the file on the PC 3º put back the resized file to the sdcard 4º ¿enjoy? Again, thank you. |

The 2nd option is more difficult to do but you can have more than 2GB of a dedicated partition and better performance (in ext2/ext3). |
