If you look at videos on youtube like this one:

you will notice that the N9 shows no clock, the user actually taps twice to get the clock and then the screen goes to the home screen.

Is this a new setting?

ALSO can someone come up with the best settings on the N9 that gives greatest use plus best battery life?

I was wondering about the GPS settings and if the phone is always searching for wifi? On iPhone you can turn wifi off.

As far as the clock display, all that is adjusting the settings to off for the stand by screen, then nothing is displayed until you double tap.

If you set the connections to manual it won't be constantly searching. It shouldn't be searching unless you are running a program that requires a gps connection or data connection.

No its just the stand by screen setting, you can toggle it off under the Display settings
