Nemo Mobile release announcements
[EDIT]: thanks to mece, we now have a discussions thread over at http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=1128776, so we can keep this one just for announcements. If you have comments or questions, please direct them there. Thanks!
Hi, I thought I'd start a new thread for Nemo Mobile release announcements. Shouldn't be too high traffic as we (generally) release once a week, but it avoids cluttering things up. Anyway, here's the first release announcement, for release 0.20111120.1.CE.2011-11-24.1: http://lists.meego.com/pipermail/mee...er/000866.html Quote:

Re: Nemo Mobile release announcements
Make more sense for the thread to be in it's own sub-forum under "OS/Platform" but it's early days
Thanks! :) |
Re: Nemo Mobile release announcements
Hi, is there an upgrade path or do we have to use the new image each time?

Re: Nemo Mobile release announcements
Hi guys,
I see here and there the new release of Nemo but is there a step by step guide about easily install it on the N900 (in the EMMC) for example by easily install it by flashing as we do with the N900 images? Thanks a lot for your answers! :D |
Re: Nemo Mobile release announcements
Install in the emmc is medium-hard. You have to use a linux machine with a custom script and of course you will wipe fremantle installation.
You have to use the old meego installation procedure, but you have to download the nemo image and the kernel. How-to page: http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/N900/Install/EMMC And IMHO, few tips by me: -using ./ didn't worked for me. I used sh "script.sh" instead -The wiki says that you can use the bz2 image directly, but it gave me problems, so finally I uncompressed the raw file inside and then used it. Good luck =) |
Re: Nemo Mobile release announcements
right forget the emmc install, i spent months trying to get it to work, but it would never ever flash my device :(

Re: Nemo Mobile release announcements
Is it possible to integrate wine & java to nemo(or meego)
as it will help running softwares like jdownloader kemulator(support 3d jar & apps) & many more.. |
Re: Nemo Mobile release announcements
WINE? Are you trying to run windows applications compiled for ARM (there are any of such things?...)? Of course You know, that You would not be able to run non-ARM windoze things, without qemu, right?
By the way, You have wine available for maemo, already on repos for looong time. /Estel |
