How do one delete a package from repos?
I edited my own thread, and I will be spamming it on next post,
so that it will get to be seen on top. What is going on.: I need to delete a package I uploaded my self, and there is also another package, not maintened by me, but that needs deletion. Is there any way I can do it my self? I found out that by using an URL like this .: http://maemo.org/packages/delete/nameofpackagehere/ It would be deleted, however I do not have priviledges for this, even though I can upload to devel... So if I can upload my own app to devel, I could have the right to delete it on my own will. The package name is gpspgui ( NOT gpspmgui, they are different packages, and causing some great deal of confusion on app man) And it's link here .: http://maemo.org/packages/delete/gpspgui/ Could someone please help me out? Thanks in advance =) |

Re: How do one delete a package from repos?
Let's be realistic, end-users do have extras-devel enabled because most of the software never gets to extras-testing, not to mention extras.
I would also like to be able to delete my package from extras-devel. |
Re: How do one delete a package from repos?
AFAIK, there's no way for developers to directly delete applications from the repository. You could try contacting the repo manager (X-Fade IIRC) and requesting that it be deleted. Filing a bug about it may also work.

Re: How do one delete a package from repos?
Thanks for the answer, I understand that may be many reasons for
this option to don't be there, but still, could be really useful, and save a lot of time, could be something like the system to promote packages, or to be able to upload to extras devel. Of course, I am just thinking out loud, again, thanks =) Edit.: I was able to delete the package contacting X-Fade, so if anyone is intesrested in doing this, it's the only way I found. Hope it helps someone! |
